The Hunan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau announced that in August 2015, our company's chilled pork supply to Hong Kong was successfully approved by the Hong Kong Food and Environmental Health Department and obtained a pass to enter the Hong Kong market. This marks that our company is the only mainland in addition to Guangdong Province, Hong Kong chilled pork export registration of successful enterprises. At present, there are five chilled pork processing plants in the mainland, four of which are in Guangdong Province.
Hong Kong is the main meat export destination of our province, but in the past, exports were frozen pork. According to the statistics of Hunan entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau, 18000 tons of frozen pork were exported to Hong Kong in the first half of this year. The export price of chilled pork is about 25% higher than that of frozen pork. The registration of chilled pork in Hong Kong shows that the pork produced in Hunan has the international first-class quality level.
After the successful registration, our company is preparing for export. It is expected that the first batch of chilled pork exported to Hong Kong from Hunan Province will be launched in September.
